Fees and Insurance

Fees

Please note that, due to Colorado healthcare laws, A Way Counseling cannot work with clients who receive Medicaid healthcare benefits.

At A Way Through Counseling, we are committed to providing quality services, tracking your progress, and getting feedback to ensure your therapy is cost-effective and helpful.

Current Fee Schedule:

  • $140 for a 55 minute session

  • $210 for an extended 85 minute session

A select number of sliding scale spots are available for clients who qualify due to low resources and/or deductibles that would otherwise make therapy inaccessible. These clients are referred through Open Path Collective. If you would like to see if you qualify for sliding scale services and if there is a spot with A Way Through Counseling, please visit this link.

Emily Straw currently works Tuesday through Friday. You can see her availability by clicking on this link:

Insurance

A Way Through Counseling does not accept any insurance policies for In-Network coverage. However, we have partnered with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions.

You can use the tool on the right to see if you qualify for Out-of-network coverage in seconds.

Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to ensure you get reimbursed if you qualify. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back yearly.

Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and A Way Through Counseling does not benefit in any way from your participation.

Good Faith Estimate and No Surprises Act

Per the Federal “No Surprises Act”, you have the right to request a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
